Louisiana Fly Fishing

I caught and released a 6.25 pound largemouth on March 4th and this afternoon caught and released another 6.25 pound largemouth.  What are the odds on that? 

Same four acre pond, one I've fished for 25 years.  I doubt it the same fish.  The first was a pre-spawn gal with a heavy waistline.  The most recent was long and lean, with a slack belly.  Some bass have spawned and schools of fry are here and there.  I caught two smaller bass guarding fry. 

Six days prior to catching the second bass, I matched another personal best with a 1.25 pound bluegill in our pond.  The grandniece came by for lunch and helped me.    She didn't want to fish but likes to put them back in the water. 



We've been weighing our bluegills with a kitchen scale, which gets down to ounces, but sometimes I don't want to fool with it and put the 15 pound BogaGrip in my pocket.  The Boga is an accurate scale but only weighs to the quarter pound.  I have a Chatillon Instrument Scale, 2 lb x 1/2 oz spring scale coming to make it easier to weigh bluegills.  Here's a pounder I caught prior to the 1.25.
